Take Advantage of Compact Building Design
Smart Growth promotes "compact building design as an alternative to conventional, land consumptive development.” Let’s put this in plain language: According to the Smart Growthers, government should not allow any more large lots to be created (Hey, most of them already have theirs!). Rather, they should require developments to have small infill lots in town. Here again, we have the elitist Smart Growthers telling people they cannot have what they want if that means larger lots. Why is it that so many people prefer larger lots? Because, as one Smart Growth proponent admitted, many people prefer “private space over public space.” Yes! Larger lots, which the Smart Growthers detest, allow a greater degree of privacy. What is wrong with that?
