The "Goals & Policies" draft for Amador County’s General Plan has many troublesome provisions.

Here’s what the County’s draft amounts to:

• Property Rights Under Attack
• Overregulation and Regulatory Duplication
• Unproven Global Warming Theory Used to Promote More Regulation
• Ambiguous & Vague Language Creating Potential Interpretation Problems
• Potential Negative Economic Impacts and New Cost Impacts Not Considered
• Free Consumer Choices Attacked by Restrictive "Smart Growth"  Policies
• New Public Water Sources Opposed while the use of wells is discouraged
• New Fees Proposed without addressing the resulting Economic Impact to the Taxpayer or of Existing State Law
