Concern: Overregulation

Do we really need more regulation?

Isn’t government regulation now cumbersome enough?  This draft is loaded with new and additional bureaucratic hurdles.  Existing environmental law—the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA)—requires that if you want to split one parcel into two, you must complete a 10-page, detailed, CEQA Checklist to determine if any “substantial” negative impacts would result from your request.  This new County draft adds more layers of regulations on top of what already exists.

And if that is not enough, this draft now proposes to add substantial additional controls under the excuse of “Global Warming”!  This is completely unproven and speculative pseudo-science alleging that humans have caused this phenonem which has existed many times throughout history.  Global coolings caused the Ice Age, and global warmings caused that ice to melt.  The current small trend in global warming started 100-200 years ago.  Did humans cause this to start?  Let’s get real!
